WINTER ADVENTURE TOURS

The best time to see Alaska is winter, since this is what this place is all about. We have eight months of winter, this is our nature. Most people believe that it is unbearably cold and the sun does not come up. On the contrary, Southcentral Alaska is warmer than Minnesota or Wisconsin in the winter months (it rains in January every year, and the sun comes up for 4 to 6 hours daily depending on the month of the year. We live in Alaska year around for more than 20 years and the mountains do look much more magical and grand with snow and ice. Avoid the crowds and inflated summer prices. There are plenty of things to do and see in the winter. The breathtaking views of frozen mountains, glaciers, fascinating Northern Lights displays, and skiing. Enjoy cold air immersed in a natural hot spring lake looking up at an amazing display of Aurora Borealis. Observe and participate in the famous local Iditarod dog sledding race a race of an exceptional endurance and character; meet the dog mushers, dog teams, participate in the start of the race in Anchorage and see them in action from the air flying over the great mountains, tundra, and endless ice and snow.
